Beacon Hill is currently over capacity with 500 students and eight portable classrooms. To fully modernize this school would cost more than to replace it. And with approximately $9 million in state matching funds, project costs are offset. Building a new school will:
- Eliminate 8 classrooms in portables
- Support growth in west Kelso
- Enhance school security and safety by combining spaces and eliminating separated building structures.
- Eliminate severe traffic and parking issues
